Compliance Certificates play a crucial role in the building approval process in NSW. These documents confirm that key components of your project—such as structural integrity, waterproofing, energy efficiency, drainage, and more—have been inspected and meet the required standards. Each certificate must be completed and signed by a suitably qualified specialist (e.g., engineers, licensed trades, or consultants) before being submitted to your certifier.

Which version do you need?

Compliance Certificate requirements depend on the year your CC or CDC was lodged:

  • For CC & CDC applications lodged between 1 May 2019 and 30 April 2023:
    Download your Component Certificates from the NCC 2019 collection.

  • For CC & CDC applications lodged after 1 May 2023:
    Download your Compliance Certificates from the NCC 2022 collection. If they are not available on the 2022 list, visit the 2019 collection and use the appropriate template from that list.
    (Note: The ABCB has not yet confirmed the final adoption date for NCC 2025.)

Once Downloaded, all you need to add to each compliance certificate is:

  • A signature by the person responsible for the works (the builder or contractor)

  • The date

  • The name, contact details, and address of the person or company responsible for the works

  • The relevant licence number and ABN

  • A reference the relevant development consent where applicable
